Meet Andreea Mihalache
Her Story
Andreea is a professor of international relations at Roanoke College. While pregnant and preparing to welcome her daughter into the world, she became fascinated with the mismatch between the scientifically recognized benefits of breastfeeding and the actual norms and practices of infant nutrition. After her daughter was born and Andreea learned firsthand about the many challenges to breastfeeding successfully, she sought an outlet for action. As a member of BREAST, she is excited to work on projects that nurture the mother-baby breastfeeding relationship, educate various stakeholders about the benefits of breastfeeding, and increase access to breastfeeding resources for all families, ultimately improving infant nutrition and maternal well-being in our community.
