Her Story
Kaley is a local Occupational Therapist that specializes in Pediatrics. She has a passion for working with babies and children of all abilities, especially those with special needs. She is a feeding therapist and likes to support healthy oral motor and feeding skills from the very start! Having a toddler and preschooler of her own caused her to dive head first into a health driven and more natural parenting style which caused her to research and dive head first into breastfeeding! With both babies, Kaley experienced breastfeeding struggles first hand. With her first she significantly struggled with pumping once returning to work and finding support/ knowledgeable professionals that could help her continue her breastfeeding journey. With her second she felt confident in her role as a nursing mother, knew more about how to manage her just enough pumping, but still struggled with a little guy who was not a "natural" at nursing from the start. Having made it past pumping and latch issues she has been breastfeeding her kids for the last 4.5 years total! Having to work so hard to continue to provide human milk to her children and struggling to find support made her passionate to advocate for breastfeeding education and support in our area. She is outgoing and energetic and ready to help bring all B.R.E.A.S.T. Roanoke has to offer to our community.
